Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from?
From PokéAPI, the reference open-source Pokémon API (public code on GitHub). It is free, key-free, and provides official artwork, types and stats.
How do I search for a Pokémon?
Type its English name (e.g. “pikachu”, “charizard”) or its Pokédex number (e.g. “25”). The search is case-insensitive.
What do the stat bars mean?
The base stats: HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense and Speed. Each bar is proportional to the value (the strongest Pokémon approach the maximum).
Is it privacy-friendly?
Only the searched name or number is sent to PokéAPI. No personal data. Pokémon is a trademark of Nintendo / Game Freak; this tool is unofficial.
