Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from?
From the open-source Open-Meteo Air Quality API, built on the European CAMS (Copernicus) model. It is free, with no key and no sign-up.
What is the European AQI?
A scale from 0 to over 100 summarising air quality: 0–20 good, 20–40 fair, 40–60 moderate, 60–80 poor, 80–100 very poor, above that extremely poor. It combines several pollutants.
Which pollutants are shown?
Fine particles PM2.5 and PM10, ozone (O₃), nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) and sulphur dioxide (SO₂), in micrograms per cubic metre (µg/m³).
Is this medical advice?
No. It is reference information. During pollution peaks or if you are sensitive to air quality, follow your local health authorities. Only the city name is sent.
