Frequently asked questions
How do I find my size in centimetres?
Measure your foot length from heel to the tip of the longest toe, standing, at the end of the day. That length in cm matches the “cm” column of the chart; the other systems follow. Keep 0.5 to 1 cm of room for comfort.
Why do sizes vary between brands?
There is no single global standard. The same EU size can fit slightly differently from one brand to another, especially between sports and dress shoes. This chart gives average correspondences; try them on when you can.
Are men’s and women’s sizes the same?
In the EU system, yes: it is the same scale. In US and UK, no: a women’s size is numbered differently from a men’s for the same length. That is why this tool separates men and women.
What does the EU system mean?
The European system (also called “Paris point”) measures the last length in steps of two-thirds of a centimetre. It is the most common in continental Europe; UK and US use barleycorns of one third of an inch.
