+50 if you play all 7 tiles (bingo!)

How much is your word worth? A letter-by-letter answer

Type a word, pick the letter values, and the tool lays it out in visual tiles showing each letter’s value, just like on the board. The total recalculates as you type, with the red squares’ double/triple word multiplier.

  1. Type the word

Tiles appear with their points, like the real pieces.

  2. Pick the value scale

9 official languages — values change drastically.

  3. Apply the multiplier

×2 or ×3 if the word covers a red or pink square.

WHISKYEnglish4+4+1+1+5+4 = 19
QUARTZEnglish10+1+1+1+1+10 = 24
JAZZEnglish8+1+10+10 = 29

A letter missing from the chosen scale (K in Italian, for instance) shows as a dashed 0-point tile: a blank. And don’t forget the +50 for playing all 7 of your tiles at once!

Frequently asked questions

Why do values change with the language?

Each edition reflects letter frequency in its language: rare = expensive. W is worth 10 points in French (an extremely rare letter) but only 4 in English where it is common. K is 10 in French, 5 in English.

How do I count the board’s bonus squares?

Blue squares (double/triple letter) multiply the tile placed on them; red/pink squares multiply the whole word — that is the tool’s ×2/×3 selector. Letter bonuses apply before word bonuses.

How much is a blank tile worth?

Zero points, whatever letter it stands for. Strategically, save it for a bingo (all 7 tiles played = +50 points) rather than a small word.

Do accented letters exist in Scrabble?

Not in the French, Spanish or Italian editions: É is played as E. However the German edition has Ä, Ö, Ü tiles (6 to 8 points), and the Polish one has dedicated Ą, Ę, Ż — the tool handles them according to the chosen scale.
