Frequently asked questions

Where do the rates come from?

From the European Central Bank (ECB) daily reference rates, fetched via the open-source, free frankfurter.app API. No key and no sign-up are required.

Why are some days missing on the chart?

Markets are closed on weekends and some holidays, so no reference rate is published then. The line simply connects the available business days.

Is this real-time? Can I trade on it?

No. These are reference rates published once per business day, not continuous quotes. It is informational and excludes the margins applied by banks and exchange offices.

Is my data private?

Only the two currency codes and a date range are sent to the API. No amounts and no personal data: the chart and statistics are computed in your browser.
