Frequently asked questions
Can I change the start number?
Yes: start (e.g. 0 or 1), step (increment between numbers) and separator (dot, paren, colon or tab) are all adjustable.
What is zero-padding for?
It pads numbers with zeros (01, 02, …, 10) so they all share the same width — handy for clean alignment.
Are empty lines numbered?
By default yes. Enable “Skip empty lines” to number only lines that contain text.
Is my data uploaded?
No. All processing happens in your browser; no text is uploaded.
